Day 1: Friday, May 23 – Arrive & Explore Sedona

Fly into: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
Morning:

  • Land early morning (aim to arrive before 9:00 AM)

  • Pick up rental car and drive to Sedona (3.5 hours)

12:00 PM: Subway Cave Hike via Boynton Canyon Trail

  • Distance: ~6 miles round trip

  • Time: 3–4 hours

5:30 PM: Lunch in Sedona

  • Options: ChocolaTree Organic Eatery, Café Elote, Indian Gardens Café

7:00 PM: Drive to Airbnb in Pine (2 hours 15 mins)
Evening: Dinner and relaxation in at Airbnb

Day 2: Saturday, May 24—Grand Canyon Adventure

9:00 AM: Wake up & breakfast
10:00 AM: Drive to Grand Canyon South Rim (3.5 hour)

1:00 PM: Visit:

  • Mather Point

  • Yavapai Point

2:30 PM: Hike South Kaibab Trail to Ooh Aah Point

  • Distance: ~1.8 miles round trip

  • Time: 1.5–2 hours

4:00 PM: Lunch at Grand Canyon Village

4:30 PM: (Optional) Desert View Drive with stops at:

  • Grandview Point

  • Moran Point

  • Lipan Point

7:30: Sunset at Desert View Watchtower

Day 3: Sunday, May 25 – Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend

8:00 AM: Breakfast and get ready
9:00 AM: Drive to Page, AZ (3.5–4 hours)

1:30 PM: Antelope Canyon Tour (TOUR AT 1:30 WE HAVE TO BE THERE AT 1:00PM)

  • Choose: Upper Antelope (easy walk)

  • Duration: ~1 hour

4:00 PM: Visit Horseshoe Bend

  • 20-minute walk to viewpoint

6:30 PM: Late lunch in Page

  • Options: BirdHouse, Grand Canyon Brewing Co.

8:00 PM: Drive back to the airbnb

Day 4: Monday, May 26 – Return Home

7:00 AM: Wake up & pack
8:00 AM: Drive to Phoenix Airport (3 hours)
Fly home (book flights for after 1:00 PM)

  • Top Spots:

    1. Hardscrabble Road (Pine to Strawberry)

      Distance: Approximately 2 miles north of Pine

    2. Haigler Creek

      Distance: About 36 miles southeast of Pine

    3. Houston Mesa Campground

      Distance: Approximately 15 miles south of Pine, near Payson

  • Optimal stargazing times are typically between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM, when the sky is darkest and celestial visibility is at its peak.

  • What to Bring (optional) : Blanket, flashlight with red filter, telescope or binoculars
