Yosemite FireFall Weekend

Day 1—Friday: Arrival + FireFall

  • Airport pickup (around 8–8:15 AM)

Dinner Suggestion:

  • Dinner at the Airbnb or Yosemite food court

Heading to the Airbnb.

  • Grocery pickup

Night: stargazing at the Airbnb, board games, sleep, or whatever you prefer.

Day 2 – Saturday: Yosemite Falls Hike & Firefall.

  • Breakfast early at 9 am

  • Leaving the Airbnb at 10 AM and heading up to Visit Tunnel View (viewpoint) for 15-20 mins

  • Visit Bridal Veil Falls (viewpoint) for 15-20 mins.

  • Reach Yosemite Valley at 11:30 am. Visit the gift stores and grab some snacks. (for 30-40 mins)

  • Park at Yosemite Lower Falls trailhead around 1 PM

  • Visit Yosemite Lower Falls. Easy hike, quick, family-friendly (AllTrails link)

  • Break and food time

  • El capitán Meadow for the firefall at Horsetail Fall (viewpoint)

Dinner Suggestion:

  • Late dinner at Airbnb or any restaurant of your choice

Night

  • stargazing at the Airbnb, board games, sleep, or whatever you prefer

    Best time for stargazing: 10:00 PM–12:00 AM (New moon ideal—check lunar calendar)

Day 3 – Sunday: Sequoia Grove Exploration

  • Early breakfast, pack up at 8 am

  • Check out at 9 am.

Visit Mariposa Grove

  • Leave Yosemite by 1–2 PM to avoid late traffic.

  • Grab lunch on our way back to San Francisco or eat on the way.

  • Back to SF by 7–8 PM

  • Comfortable hiking shoes or boots with grip

  • comfortable light cloth for daytime

  • Reusable water bottle or hydration pack

  • Snacks or trail food

  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and hat

  • Small backpack or daypack

  • Flashlight or headlamp

  • swimsuit for the hot tub

What to Bring for Stargazing:

  • Warm layers

  • Optional: Phone with a star app (like SkyView or Stellarium)

  • Optional: binoculars or camera with tripod

  • Optional: Thermos with hot drink
